The MVP Catalyst is an understable high-speed (13) distance driver from MVP's 23 mm class, built on the brand's GYRO dual-material overmold.[1] MVP describes it as a perfect starter for big distance, with a stability profile that stays useful even when underpowered.[1] With flight numbers of 13/5.5/-2/2, average arms get easy turn-to-straight distance and great glide, while power throwers can shape rollers, sky-anhyzers, and tight turnovers.[1] It is molded on the same core and even dome as the Octane and behaves like a longer, faster Wave.[1] PDGA records list a 21.1 cm diameter and a 1.2 cm rim depth.[2]

History

The Catalyst was PDGA-approved on June 6, 2016 (certification 16-55).[2] MVP positioned it within its 23 mm distance-driver class as a more accessible, understable complement to molds like the Octane, sharing the Octane's core and dome to maximize glide.[1] Like all MVP discs it uses the company's signature GYRO overmold, which concentrates rim mass for stability and distance.[1] MVP markets it as 'similar to a longer Wave,' bridging the gap between the 21.5 mm Wave and faster 23 mm drivers.[1] It is produced across MVP's Neutron, Proton, Plasma, and Fission lines and remains a staple understable distance option in the lineup.[1][4]
