The Streamline Echo is a 5-speed understable midrange. With published flight numbers of 5 / 5 / -1.5 / 1, it is most often described as suited for straight, glidey midrange shots in the woods, touch hyzer-flips that ride flat and finish straight.

Overview

The Streamline Echo is a straight-to-understable midrange with flight numbers of 5/5/-1.5/1.[1][2] Streamline classifies it in their 13mm midrange class with a slightly deeper hand feel than MVP's midranges, and it is built around clean, neutral, glidey lines.[1] The Echo wants to fly straight: higher-power players can use it for touch hyzer-flips and controlled turnovers, while lower-power players get a reliable straight flyer with enough fade to finish predictably and enough turn to work anhyzer lines.[1] It was PDGA-approved on February 22, 2021.[2]

Flight numbers describe the published behavior of the disc when thrown at its design speed. Real-world flight varies with plastic, weight, age, and thrower power. The community-averaged numbers above reflect crowd-sourced observations from real throws — typically slightly more understable than the manufacturer's published values, which is the most consistent pattern across nearly every commercial mold.

The Echo is a wooded-golf staple for straight tunnel shots, hyzer-flips that stand up and ride flat, and smooth turnovers that need a gentle, controlled curve.[1] Its glide and neutral stability make it forgiving across skill levels — beginners get an easy straight flyer, while advanced players use it to shape touch lines and anhyzers.[1] In strong wind its understability can show, so a touch of hyzer keeps it most predictable.[1]

Best for:

  • Straight, glidey midrange shots in the woods
  • Touch hyzer-flips that ride flat and finish straight
  • Controlled turnovers and gentle anhyzer lines
  • Tunnel shots demanding a clean, neutral flight

Plastics & variants

The Echo is available in the following plastic blends from Streamline:[1]

Neutron, Proton, Electron, Plasma

Plastic blend significantly affects flight character. Premium plastics like Champion, Z, or C-Line generally fly more overstable when fresh and hold their stability over time. Base plastics like DX, Pro, or Active beat in faster and become more understable workhorses with use.

History

The Echo first reached players through Streamline's 2022 Circuit Challenge promotion to strong reviews before receiving a wide stock release.[1] It was PDGA-approved on February 22, 2021.[2] Streamline Discs is part of the MVP+Disc+Sports">MVP Disc Sports family of brands, and the Echo is produced in Streamline's premium plastics such as Neutron and Proton, along with the grippier Electron and durable Plasma lines, plus a softer Neutron Soft run.[1] It rounds out the brand's midrange options as the more understable, straight-flying counterpart to the overstable Runway.[1]
