The Dynamic Discs Felon is a 9-speed very overstable fairway driver. With published flight numbers of 9 / 3 / 0 / 4, it is most often described as suited for forehand drives that need a hard fade, headwind fairway shots.

Overview

The Dynamic Discs Felon is a very overstable 9-speed fairway driver with flight numbers of 9/3/0.5/4.[1] Dynamic Discs describes it as a 'wind-fighting fairway driver' crafted in response to the unforgiving Kansas winds where the company is based.[1] Even in heavy headwinds the Felon continues to sail without turning over, and when the wind drops it offers a predictable hyzer finish.[1] Like all Dynamic Discs molds, the Felon is manufactured by Latitude 64 in Sweden.[2]

Flight numbers describe the published behavior of the disc when thrown at its design speed. Real-world flight varies with plastic, weight, age, and thrower power. The community-averaged numbers above reflect crowd-sourced observations from real throws — typically slightly more understable than the manufacturer's published values, which is the most consistent pattern across nearly every commercial mold.

The Felon is a forehand and overstable-utility specialist — it holds the angle of release under torque and finishes with a hard, dependable hook.[1] Common uses include headwind drives that need to fight turn, forehand drives, spike hyzers around obstacles, and low-ceiling shots where good glide is paired with a strong finish.[1] Lucid is the standard premium plastic; the Fuzion version is slightly less overstable, and Lucid Air is a lightweight version useful for slower arms or rollers.[3]

Best for:

  • Forehand drives that need a hard fade
  • Headwind fairway shots
  • Spike hyzers around obstacles
  • Low-ceiling overstable approaches

Plastics & variants

The Felon is available in the following plastic blends from Dynamic Discs:[1]

Lucid, Fuzion, Fluid, Lucid Air, Lucid Hybrid-X

Plastic blend significantly affects flight character. Premium plastics like Champion, Z, or C-Line generally fly more overstable when fresh and hold their stability over time. Base plastics like DX, Pro, or Active beat in faster and become more understable workhorses with use.

History

The Felon was PDGA-approved on July 14, 2014.[1] Per Dynamic Discs, only 1,000 First Run Felons were produced, making early discs collectible among the brand's fans.[3] The Felon was positioned in Dynamic Discs' lineup as the wind-fighting counterpart to the more neutral Escape, filling the 'very overstable fairway driver' slot opposite firebird-class molds from other manufacturers.[1] Like other Dynamic Discs molds, it is manufactured by Latitude 64 in Sweden as part of the Trilogy partnership that launched in 2012.[2]
