The Discraft Force is a 12-speed very overstable distance driver. With published flight numbers of 12 / 5 / 0 / 3, it is most often described as suited for power forehand drives at 350ft+, heavy-headwind distance drives.

Overview

The Discraft Force is a 12/5/0/3 distance driver — Discraft's fastest overstable driver, with a wide rim and noticeably more overstable flight than the Zeus or Destroyer at comparable weights. It's a go-to forehand and headwind driver for advanced players who need a predictable fade without sacrificing distance. Reviewers consistently call out its 'sneaky glide' before the overstability kicks in.

Flight numbers describe the published behavior of the disc when thrown at its design speed. Real-world flight varies with plastic, weight, age, and thrower power. The community-averaged numbers above reflect crowd-sourced observations from real throws — typically slightly more understable than the manufacturer's published values, which is the most consistent pattern across nearly every commercial mold.

The Force is most at home on forehand drives where rim stability prevents flipping, and on backhand hyzer lines that need to fade hard left for a RHBH player. In strong headwinds, the Force will hold its line where the Zeus would turn over. Big arms can push it well past 400ft on a sidearm rip. Big Z plastic is favored for forehand work; ESP offers more grip and slightly more glide.

Best for:

  • Power forehand drives at 350ft+
  • Heavy-headwind distance drives
  • Long skip shots off fairway
  • Overstable hyzer drives that must finish left (RHBH)

Plastics & variants

The Force is available in the following plastic blends from Discraft:

ESP, Z, Big Z, CryZtal Sparkle

Plastic blend significantly affects flight character. Premium plastics like Champion, Z, or C-Line generally fly more overstable when fresh and hold their stability over time. Base plastics like DX, Pro, or Active beat in faster and become more understable workhorses with use.

History

The Force was PDGA approved on February 21, 2008 (certification number 08-08), predating the Zeus by a decade. It was for a long time Discraft's primary overstable distance driver, and even after the Zeus arrived it has held its place as the more overstable, more wind-resistant option in many pro bags. Andrew Presnell, a long-tenured Team Discraft pro, has released a signature Tour Series Force.
