The Getaway is Dynamic Discs' overstable Speed 9 fairway driver, rated 9/5/-0.5/3.[3][4] Dynamic Discs positions it directly against their popular Escape: it shares the Escape's feel and glide, but delivers a more predictably overstable flight with moderate fade for players who found the Escape too flippy.[1] The result is a workhorse fairway slot — straighter than a meathook, but dependable when a left finish is a must.[1][3] It is produced in Dynamic Discs' premium Lucid and Fuzion families, including lightweight Lucid Air and recycled-blend BioFuzion versions.[1][3]

History

The Getaway was PDGA-approved on December 4, 2017 (certification 17-122), reaching stores in 2018.[2] Dynamic Discs created it as the answer to years of requests for a beefier Escape — the Escape had become one of the Kansas company's most popular fairway drivers, and the Getaway gave that mold family a predictably overstable sibling.[1][3] It has since settled in as a stock mold across the Lucid, Lucid Air, Fuzion, and BioFuzion plastic lines, and remains part of Dynamic Discs' core fairway lineup today.[1][3]
