Overview

The MVP Glitch is a hybrid between a golf putter and a catch disc, pitched by MVP as an experiment from its R&D lab that blurs the line between the two games.[1] Rated 1/7/0/0, it was the first MVP disc with 7 glide, built on a putter-diameter GYRO overmold frame and produced only in light 140–154g weights.[1] The flight is dead neutral: no meaningful turn, no fade, and a floaty, unhurried pace that makes it one of the most beginner-friendly discs on the market.[1][4] Despite the toy-like weight, MVP notes it has enough aerodynamic stability to be a real on-course tool.[1]

MVP recommends the Glitch as a tremendous first disc — especially for players from Ultimate backgrounds and lower-power arms — and as a catch disc for the beach or backyard.[1] On the course it shines as a touch approach and scramble disc: the soft plastic and neutral flight make it tend to sit where it lands rather than skip away.[1] Just a flick of the wrist produces usable glide, so it suits short technical layouts and one-disc putting practice. It is not a wind disc; its light weight and high glide are a liability in strong gusts.

Plastic blend significantly affects flight character. Premium plastics like Champion, Z, or C-Line generally fly more overstable when fresh and hold their stability over time. Base plastics like DX, Pro, or Active beat in faster and become more understable workhorses with use.

History

The Glitch was PDGA-approved on June 27, 2022 (certification 22-115).[2] The PDGA certification allows up to 176.0g, but MVP only produces the mold at 140–154g.[2][1] It debuted in MVP's September 2022 release in Neutron Soft plastic at 145–155g,[3] and quickly became a crossover hit — part beginner gateway disc, part novelty catch disc, and a legitimate soft-touch approach putter.[4] MVP has since run it in Proton Soft and in glow Eclipse editions.[1] Alongside spirited team-edition and special-run stamps, it remains one of MVP's most recognizable molds of the 2020s.[4]
