The Innova Shryke is a 13-speed understable distance driver. With published flight numbers of 13 / 6 / -2 / 2, it is most often described as suited for wide-open backhand distance bombs for intermediate arms, long anhyzer and turnover lines.
Overview
The Innova Shryke is an easy-to-throw, understable 13-speed distance driver designed to give intermediate arms maximum range.[2][4] A mild high-speed turn drops it into glide mode, and its high aerodynamic speed plus modest low-speed fade let it carry far while staying on the fairway.[2] IsaacSam calls it 'Innova's latest attempt to make an intermediate-friendly 13 speed' — one they 'may have actually succeeded' at — and notes that for intermediate arm speed it has 'the largest distance potential of any disc on the market.'[1] Innova lists the Shryke at 13/6/-2/2 in GStar and 13/6/-1/2 in Star and Champion.[2] The PDGA approved it on November 14, 2016.[3]
Flight characteristics
Flight numbers describe the published behavior of the disc when thrown at its design speed. Real-world flight varies with plastic, weight, age, and thrower power. The community-averaged numbers above reflect crowd-sourced observations from real throws — typically slightly more understable than the manufacturer's published values, which is the most consistent pattern across nearly every commercial mold.
Recommended uses
The Shryke is a max-distance and roller tool, not a control driver.[1] Throw it on wide-open backhand bombs where its long turn and glide stretch out the flight, on big anhyzer and turnover lines, and on rollers, where its understability shines.[1] Lower-power and intermediate players get the most from it as a primary distance driver; bigger arms tend to use it for flex lines, tailwind bombs, and rollers rather than precise fairway shaping, since it turns over readily under power.[1]
Best for:
- Wide-open backhand distance bombs for intermediate arms
- Long anhyzer and turnover lines
- Rollers that need an understable driver
- Tailwind and flex shots for higher-power players

Plastics & variants
The Shryke is available in the following plastic blends from Innova:[2]
DX, Star, Champion, GStar
Plastic blend significantly affects flight character. Premium plastics like Champion, Z, or C-Line generally fly more overstable when fresh and hold their stability over time. Base plastics like DX, Pro, or Active beat in faster and become more understable workhorses with use.
History
Innova PDGA-approved the Shryke on November 14, 2016 (certification 16-71).[3] It was built as an approachable high-speed driver, and IsaacSam reports it quickly became an Innova fan favorite by delivering huge distance to intermediate arms.[1] The Shryke became one of the most-utilized distance drivers in the FPO field — IsaacSam names Jessica Weese and Lisa Fajkus as notable tour-level throwers — and it appears in MPO bags as well, to the point that IsaacSam suspects it largely displaced the Vulcan and Katana.[1] Innova produces it in DX, Star, Champion, and grippy GStar plastic.[2] It carries a 21.1 cm diameter, a wide 2.3 cm rim, and a PDGA maximum weight of 175.1 g.[3]
