The MVP Disc Sports Trail is a 10-speed understable distance driver. With published flight numbers of 10 / 5 / -1 / 1, it is most often described as suited for hyzer-flip distance drives that ride flat and forward, long, controllable straight-to-turnover lines.
Overview
The MVP Trail is a stable-to-understable distance driver with a 10/5/-1/1 flight, and it was MVP's first official 10-speed driver.[1] Built on the GYRO overmold platform, it excels at hyzer-flips, turnovers, and long straight shots with a gentle forward-pushing fade.[1] It is a signature disc in the James Conrad line — Conrad won the 2021 PDGA World Championship — and MVP positions it as an exceptionally responsive driver that throwers of all power levels can shape.[1][3]
Flight characteristics
Flight numbers describe the published behavior of the disc when thrown at its design speed. Real-world flight varies with plastic, weight, age, and thrower power. The community-averaged numbers above reflect crowd-sourced observations from real throws — typically slightly more understable than the manufacturer's published values, which is the most consistent pattern across nearly every commercial mold.
Recommended uses
The Trail shines on hyzer-flip drives, long turnover lines, and tailwind distance shots, where its light stability lets it stand up and glide.[1] MVP designed it to be workable for a wide range of arm speeds, so slower throwers can reach distance while stronger arms shape touch turnovers.[1] It is offered in MVP's Neutron, Fission, Plasma, and glow Eclipse blends, each built on the GYRO overmold core.[1]
Best for:
- Hyzer-flip distance drives that ride flat and forward
- Long, controllable straight-to-turnover lines
- Tailwind distance shots
- Accessible distance for developing arms

Plastics & variants
The Trail is available in the following plastic blends from MVP Disc Sports:[1]
Neutron, Fission, Plasma, Eclipse
Plastic blend significantly affects flight character. Premium plastics like Champion, Z, or C-Line generally fly more overstable when fresh and hold their stability over time. Base plastics like DX, Pro, or Active beat in faster and become more understable workhorses with use.
History
The Trail was PDGA-approved on September 5, 2023, certification number 23-220.[2] It launched as the first disc in MVP world champion James Conrad's signature line, and as MVP's first true 10-speed driver.[1][3] PDGA records list it at 21.2 cm in diameter with a 2.1 cm rim and a maximum weight of 176 g.[2] Like all MVP discs it uses the two-material GYRO overmold construction, which the brand pioneered, and it quickly became one of Conrad's most popular signature releases.[1][3]
