The Dynamic Discs Truth is a 5-speed stable midrange. With published flight numbers of 5 / 5 / -1 / 1, it is most often described as suited for all-around midrange — hyzer, straight, and anhyzer lines on the same disc, low-ceiling power shots.
Overview
The Dynamic Discs Truth is — per Dynamic Discs itself — pitched as 'the best midrange disc in the game,' designed to combine the versatility and trust of the Roc and the Buzzz into one mold.[1] With 5/5/-1/1 flight numbers,[1] the Truth is a stable-to-slightly-understable midrange that Dynamic Discs claims can do 'hyzer, straight, anhyzer, distance, approach, low-ceiling power shots, high-floating drop shots' — all from the same disc.[1] 'Beginners and World Champions love this disc.'[1]
Flight characteristics
Flight numbers describe the published behavior of the disc when thrown at its design speed. Real-world flight varies with plastic, weight, age, and thrower power. The community-averaged numbers above reflect crowd-sourced observations from real throws — typically slightly more understable than the manufacturer's published values, which is the most consistent pattern across nearly every commercial mold.
Recommended uses
The Truth is at its best as a do-everything midrange — straight fairway approaches, hyzer-flip shots, anhyzer S-curves, and touch upshots.[1] Lucid is the standard premium plastic (slightly more overstable than Fuzion); Fuzion offers more grip; BioFuzion is a biodegradable variant; Prime and Classic offer cheaper break-in options.[1] Lucid Air is a lightweight version that makes the disc easier to throw far with less power.[1]
Best for:
- All-around midrange — hyzer, straight, and anhyzer lines on the same disc
- Low-ceiling power shots
- High-floating drop shots
- Distance and approach midrange work
- Beginner-friendly stable midrange

Plastics & variants
The Truth is available in the following plastic blends from Dynamic Discs:[1]
Lucid, Lucid Air, Fuzion, BioFuzion, Classic, Prime
Plastic blend significantly affects flight character. Premium plastics like Champion, Z, or C-Line generally fly more overstable when fresh and hold their stability over time. Base plastics like DX, Pro, or Active beat in faster and become more understable workhorses with use.
History
The Truth was PDGA-approved on June 18, 2013 (certification 13-39).[1][2] It became Dynamic Discs' flagship neutral midrange and the foundation of their midrange lineup. The EMAC Truth (Eric McCabe's signature midrange) is a related but separate, more overstable mold (5/5/0/2) — it's PDGA-approved separately and shouldn't be confused with the original Truth.[3] The Truth sits in the same flight slot as the Innova Mako3, Discraft Buzzz, and Latitude 64 Compass (Latitude 64 is Dynamic Discs' sister brand).[1]
