History
The Zombee began life as Discraft's disc for the 2012 Ace Race — the company's annual event built around an unmarked prototype mold — and was PDGA-approved on November 13, 2012 (certification 12-50), where it is listed as 'Zombee (Ace Race 2012)'.[2] The prototype proved popular enough to graduate into the permanent lineup under its zombie-and-bee pun name, complete with Discraft's 'Zombee want CHAAAAINS!' tagline.[1] More than a decade later it remains in production as a beloved straight utility driver, filling the slot between the Buzzz and Discraft's faster control drivers.[1][3]
