Overview

The MVP Anode is MVP's beadless straight putter, rated 2.5/3/0/0.5 on the company's own scale.[1] MVP attributes its straightness to a deep profile that reduces lateral movement, and pairs it with the GYRO overmold used across the MVP line.[1] Within MVP's 11 mm Putt/Approach class it sits between the more overstable Ion and the understable Spin.[1] PDGA specifications: 21.0 cm diameter, 2.1 cm height, 1.1 cm rim width, 174.3 g maximum weight.[2] Disc Golf Puttheads lists the fade as 0 rather than MVP's 0.5.[3]

Plastic blend significantly affects flight character. Premium plastics like Champion, Z, or C-Line generally fly more overstable when fresh and hold their stability over time. Base plastics like DX, Pro, or Active beat in faster and become more understable workhorses with use.

History

The Anode was PDGA-approved on January 15, 2012 (certification number 12-05), making it one of MVP's earlier putt-and-approach molds.[2] It joined the Ion in MVP's 11 mm Putt/Approach class as the beadless, straighter option, and the class later added the understable Spin.[1] MVP has produced it across the full plastic range — Electron in soft, medium and firm grades, plus Neutron, R2 Neutron and Proton — giving players the same mold in grip levels from putting-soft to driving-firm.[1][3] Weights run 150–175 g, with the PDGA maximum set at 174.3 g.[1][2]
