The Discmania Link is a 2-speed stable putt & approach. With published flight numbers of 2 / 3 / 0 / 1, it is most often described as suited for straight putts inside the circle, no-skip approach shots that sit where they land.

Overview

The Discmania Link is a speed-2 putt and approach disc rated 2/3/0/1 and was the first putter released in Discmania's Evolution line, manufactured by Latitude 64.[1][2] Discmania says it has a stable flight for a putter, able to take large amounts of spin without getting floaty and to glide to the basket without fading out too soon.[2] Its defining feature is a large bead on the rim that makes it comfortable in the hand and helps it release cleanly.[2] Reviewers compare its feel to the Dynamic Discs Judge and Gateway Wizard, and place its flight between the Discmania P1x and P2.[1]

Flight numbers describe the published behavior of the disc when thrown at its design speed. Real-world flight varies with plastic, weight, age, and thrower power. The community-averaged numbers above reflect crowd-sourced observations from real throws — typically slightly more understable than the manufacturer's published values, which is the most consistent pattern across nearly every commercial mold.

With reduced glide and low speed, the Link is a strong approach disc that shows no skip on landing, making it reliable for parking upshots.[1] Inside the circle it putts straight, though longer putts need a touch more power than a glidey putter because of its honest 3 glide.[1] Off the tee it flies fairly straight with a moderate, quick fade.[1] It comes in firm, grippy Exo Hard and a softer Exo Soft.[2] Its big bead suits players who like a defined rim and want one disc for putting and approaching.[1]

Best for:

  • Straight putts inside the circle
  • No-skip approach shots that sit where they land
  • Short, straight drives off the tee
  • Windy upshots where reduced glide helps control

Plastics & variants

The Link is available in the following plastic blends from Discmania:[2]

Exo Hard, Exo Soft

Plastic blend significantly affects flight character. Premium plastics like Champion, Z, or C-Line generally fly more overstable when fresh and hold their stability over time. Base plastics like DX, Pro, or Active beat in faster and become more understable workhorses with use.

History

The Link was PDGA-approved on May 23, 2019, and launched as the inaugural putter in Discmania's Evolution line — a series of molds produced for Discmania by Latitude 64 in Sweden.[1] Reviewed by Disc Golf Puttheads in January 2021, it was characterized as a neutral, beaded putter that 'feels like a Judge or Wizard' and reads as a blend of the Discmania P1x and P2.[1] It is built on a 21.2 cm diameter with a 1.5 cm rim depth and is certified to a maximum weight of 176 g.[1] The mold has since been offered in Discmania's Exo plastics in both Hard and Soft formulations.[1][2]
